Hello families,
Alien In-Line Skating Residency
We are excited to be hosting Alien In-Line Skating this week. Each class will have the opportunity to build their skating skills over 3 classes. Please remember to send students in sock feet with an extra pair of socks in their backpacks in case they get wet outside.
Pink Shirt Day
Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day in recognition of anti-bullying. Students are encouraged to wear Pink on Wednesday, February 28 to show their support. Please have a conversation with your child(ren) about the importance of kindness and caring for others.
Be Brave Game
Our grade 2/3 classes are thrilled to be attending the Hitmen Be Brave Game this Wednesday. Each student will be receiving a pink shirt to be worn at the event to show our support of this significant day. Students have been learning a special Be Brave Dance which they will do along with the entire Saddledome attendees. As this is a regular season game for the Hitmen, we wish them the best of luck and we plan to cheer loudly! A huge thank you to School Council for providing our students with this opportunity.
Ever Active Schools
We are thrilled to continue our work with Ever Active Schools. They are an organization committed to increasing active ways to get around, specifically to and from school. Last year, our students collected data in regards to traffic and potential areas of concerns for safety around the streets of our school. This week, teachers will be tracking how students travel to school whether by walking, rolling (I.e. scooters), biking or driving. We will also be part of a multi-interest team on March 5th to investigate traffic challenges in the area. Let's get active!
