Banting and Best Bulletin Oct. 23-27 | Professional Development, Halloween Spirit, Weather
Hello families,
Professional Development
This past Friday was a fantastic day for learning for our teachers and Ms. Roselea. Teachers spent time diving into our School Development Plan to create a focus for our work this year. More on this to come. We also spent some time learning on the land. We have such beautiful outdoor learning spaces that are only a short walk from our school. It was a perfect fall day for this type of learning which combined elements from the CBE Holistic & Well-being frameworks, Science and ELAL curriculum. Lastly, a big thank you to School Council for generously providing us with some exciting new technology! We literally unboxed our new robotics kits and learned how they work. We can’t wait to see our students engaging with this new outcome in Science!
Halloween Spirit
Halloween is quickly approaching. A few notes regarding the day at school on October 31.
- Students who will be wearing a costume should arrive at school dressed in their costume and plan to wear it for the day. Please ensure their costume is comfortable and will not interrupt learning.
- No weapons, gore or masks.
- Students are not permitted to bring food or treats to share with the class.
- Students will have a chance to parade around the school in their costumes and we will join for a brief assembly.
- If you do not wish for your child to participate in the Halloween activities, please contact their teacher.
Changing Weather
The forecast is looking a little more like winter this week. Please ensure your children are dressed in layers as the weather can change quickly. In the event of snow falling, we understand that mornings can become more challenging. Please ensure enough time to arrive by 8:10 am. Arriving on time is important to support your child’s learning and keeps the office running smoothly so we can quickly complete attendance and ensure all students have arrived safe and are accounted for.
