Hello families,

What an amazing first week of this school year! Our student have been working hard in learning expectations, building friendships, exploring new grade curriculum and having fun learning. The smiles and enthusiasm has been showing up on many, many faces. For the few that are still a little apprehensive, we are ready to help. Thank you to our families for all your support in having students ready for learning.

Outdoor Experiences

This rainy weather is a great reminder of ensuring our students are dressed for all types of weather, especially considering how fast it can change in Calgary. We go outside for recess twice per day in all types of weather from rain, snow, wind and sun. If your child needs a winter jacket, mittens, etc, please contact the office or your child’s teacher, so we can provide these to your child.

School Council Meeting

We would like to invite all families to join our School Council. Attending is a great way to stay informed about school happenings, provide your input and meet other families. Our school benefits in tremendous ways from the support of our amazing School Council. You are welcome to come to all meetings, or any that you are able. Each year we vote in members of community to the Council positions such as Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Fundraising Coordinator, etc. You may also attend as a participant without an official role. We hope to see you all this Thursday, Sept 10th @6pm in the Learning Commons.

Demographic Forms

Student demographic verification forms for the 2026-2027 school year are now available in your MyCBE account. These forms are mandatory as they provide up to date information to support communication and safety.

Completed forms are due no later than September 30, 2026. If you require support with these forms, please contact the office.

Video Surveillance Technology

Our school has a video surveillance system to help maintain a safe and secure environment at the school for students, staff and the public, and to help address vandalism and criminal activity on school property.

The video surveillance system is installed and reviewed in accordance with Administrative Regulation 1066. Personal information is collected under the authority of the Education Act and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), specifically section 10(1) and the Access to Information Act (ATIA) .

This technology can be placed in areas such as the school parking lot, building entrances and exits, stairwells and hallways. This information is recorded and collected to help maintain a safe and secure environment in the school and on school property. The users of this information are the principal or designate and law enforcement personnel in the case of reported incidents that would require an investigation. Only authorized persons will review video surveillance information.

Inquiries concerning the video surveillance system, or the collection and use of recorded information may be made by contacting the school office.
