Hello families,

Casino Fundraiser 

Save the date! February 6 & 7, 2027. We will soon be looking for volunteers... parents, community members, family and friends to volunteer for shifts at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino. No experience or volunteer clearance is required. Volunteering for this fundraiser is a great way to meet other families, support our school financially and contribute to a strong school community.  

This fundraiser can raise upwards of $60,000 or more in 2 days! These funds can be used to fund fieldtrips, residencies, technology, and many, many other benefits to our school. 

School Council is looking first for a Casino Coordinator. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Durnford at kadurnford@cbe.ab.ca . Later in the year a signup genius will be created for the remaining volunteer shifts.  

Photo day 

Let’s get our smiles ready. Photo day is coming. It is important to have all students arrive on time everyday including on Tuesday, to be included in both individual and class photos. If students are absent, we will have an individual photo re-take day later in the year, but this is the only time class photos will be taken. Information on purchasing your child’s photo will be sent home shortly. 

Supporting Child and Youth Well-Being 

The Calgary Board of Education invites all parents and guardians to join a live online series on supporting child and youth well-being. The series is hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with local experts from the Calgary community. 

Attached to this email is a poster with sessions designed to provide families with knowledge, tools, and strategies to help navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today. Along with the poster, additional session details are available on our corporate website: Child and Youth Well-Being Family and Caregiver Series.

    • Families welcome to join outside on the field at approximately 9:15 am for the run
