Hello families,

These have been challenging times in education, and we are grateful for the messages of support and care from our students and families. It is wonderful to see students back in the building and learning. We are also grateful for all our staff who work tirelessly to support our students and contribute meaningfully to the success of our school community. We are truly a lovely little school.

Grant Funding

We are thrilled to announce that we have applied for and been awarded 2 Grants from Education Matters. The first will cover the majority of our Open Minds Experiences, where our grade 2 and 3 students will go offsite to either Ralph Klein Park or the Calgary Zoo to do a week of immersive learning alongside their teachers and Campus Calgary Open Minds teachers at each site.

Secondly, we have also received $4000 towards updating the audio-visual technology in the gym. Our current equipment has not been replaced in quite some time and new equipment would promote learning for students during assemblies, presentations, physical education lessons and all of our enjoyment of student performances.

For more information, please join us at School Council meetings where we present additional details.

School Assemblies

Each classroom at our school will participate in hosting one school assembly throughout the year. This is an opportunity to share their learning in creative ways and help teach and inform the rest of our school community.

While we love having families attend the school as often as possible, when we have our student body in attendance, it leaves little room for additional guests. Therefore, we invite the families of the host class to join the assembly audience if they are able. Please do not plan to attend assemblies that your child is not presenting.

School wide events such as the Winter Concert are available to all families and we will communicate this with you.

Our photo retake day has been moved to December 4th. This is for individuals who require a new photo (i.e. eyes were closed) or students who were absent on the original day.
