Happy Sunday!

Volunteers

The School Council and the school community would like to send a big THANK YOU!!! to all of the casino volunteers. By giving the gift of your time we were able to have a very successful casino, raising ten of thousands for our school community. This money will be put towards residencies, field trips and supplies for the kids of Banting. If you're interested in suggesting something to use this money with please join us for our next school council meeting: Tuesday Jan 9 at 6PM. Thank YOU volunteers!

Staffing Updates

We are exctited to announce 2 staffing updates. First off, we are thrilled to be able to increase Ms. Jordan Gardiner's time to include additional resource support. She will be working with our students to support language learning, fine motor development and much more.

We also would like to welcome Megan MacDonald. Through a one time grant, we have been able to hire Ms. MacDonald for 2 days a week to teach Physical Education, support literacy learning and music to our grade 1 classes. Mrs. Seymour will shift her time to both resource and student supports. All our students can expect to benefit from her expertise in classes throughout the year.

Winter Concert – Save the Date!

Our students have started to prepare for our Winter Concert on Thursday, December 14. There will be a daytime rehearsal that guests are welcome to attend, and students will perform in the evening as well (5:30-6:15pm). We hope you will be able to attend!

Painting Announcement

We are also thrilled to announce that we have been selected for painting! All common areas inside the school such as the office, hallways, gym, Learning Commons, etc. will receive a fresh coat of paint. Much of this work will occur after school hours and the work that is done during work hours will be well coordinated to minimize the disruption to learning.

Hat Day

This Wednesday, November 29 is Hat day at Banting and Best School. Students are encouraged to wear any cap, toque or wacky hat they have. We look forward to more spirit days coming up in the future.

No Kindergarten Friday

Our Kindergarten schedule is similar but slightly different that the other grades. This Friday, December 1st, there will be no Kindergarten classes for students. Our Kindergarten teachers will be going to another school to collaborate and learn alongside other Kindergarten teachers.
