Hello families,
Olympic Excitement
And just like that another Olympics is in the books. Our staff did an amazing job highlighting and promoting the spirit of these awe-inspiring events for our students. The dedication and resiliency shown by our athletes was shared by all...or at least many...even at 6 am this morning!! We hope that our students were able to use these events to build understanding and strategies for overcoming obstacles and being brave enough to dream big.
CBC Read aloud
Our school has been asked to read for the CBC! We are the only school selected in all of Alberta! 3 of our students will be filmed this week reading a book from the Forest of Reading nominated collection. Our school is honoured by this request, and we know our students will excel with their skills. We will post further information on the release date of the stories when it is provided to us. What an amazing opportunity for us and to connect to our School Development Plan goals.
Pink Shirt Day
Our grade 1 classes did an amazing job at their assembly last week, of promoting kindness and reminding us of how important we each can be in supporting others. On Wednesday, we will recognize and learn about Pink Shirt Day as a reminder of how we can all stand up to bullying and how we can proactively help others by choosing acts of kindness. We encourage students to wear pink in support of this important learning. If your child needs a pink shirt, please contact their teacher or the office and we will provide one for them.
